Sally’s friends organised the surprise birthday Harley tour. It was for her 60th birthday and the friends wanted to organise something fun and different to celebrate.
Our Harley rider Phil, picked her up from her home in northern Sydney. As the pickup was situated on Middle Harbour, therefore we decided a good route was to head to the northern beaches.
Frenchs Forest and Dee Why
So firstly, Phil rode with Sally to Frenchs Forest and along to Dee Why Beach. It is a well known Sydney beach, with a grassy area and children’s playground and best of all, a sheltered place to swim. Behind that area is a row of cafes and restaurants.
Long Reef and Collaroy
Continuing on, they rode past Long Reef and the water views. Next was Collaroy Beach, the whole suburb has a nice, beachy, relaxed feel to it. In addition, Collaroy beach has good swimming conditions for all ages, due to low swells. Excellent beach for beginner surfers, good for wind surfing in north easterly or south easterly winds.
After that, the road led to Narrabeen which has the South Pacific Ocean on one side and Narrabeen Lagoon on the other. They headed west after here and rode around part of the Narrabeen Lagoon. It is very peaceful and scenic area, also known as Narrabeen Lake.
Wakehurst Parkway and Oxford Falls
Riding along the Wakehurst Parkway is fun. The speed limit is higher than most of the Sydney area. It feels like you are out in the country, with trees lining both sides of the road and no development for a short time. They rode through Oxford Falls and back to Frenchs Forest.
However, time was up so Phil dropped Sally off at a restaurant at Roseville Bridge Marina. Sally and her friends continued celebrating her birthday. In conclusion, the surprise birthday Harley tour was a real success, an experience Sally will always remember.
