Hear the Rumble
Hear the Harley Rumble – hear them as they should sound! – Sydney Harbour Bridge & Sydney Harbour Tunnel, Kirribilli
Hear the roar of the Chopper 4 trike or the Harley Davidson motorbike engines with a trip under the Sydney Harbour Tunnel. Not for the faint hearted.
The ride takes you for a close up look at Luna Park. There is over 75 years of history to Sydney’s Luna Park. The whole Sydney site was constructed in just over 3 months and involved the employment of 800 structural workers, 70 electricians and 35 artists as well and many others. The original rides were from Glenelg, Adelaide, SA.
When the doors opened at 8.00pm on 4 October, 1935 it cost 6d to enter (3d for children) and 6d for most rides. The Big Dipper and Coney Island cost 9d. The Park was an instant success. After the first year, the admission charge was removed and Luna Park proudly advertised “Admission Free”. Unfortunately some good things don’t last, over the years Luna Park has changed a lot and it is not free. It is still worth a look.
We return via the Sydney Harbour Bridge & its superb view.
Summary: From your pick up point, travel through the Sydney Harbour Tunnel, hearing the roar of the engines. Drop in for a close up view of Luna Park’s famous 8th face. We stop at Kirribilli to enjoy the views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge from underneath and across the water to the Sydney Opera House. Return via the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
